What should the focus be in 2021?
It’s essential that we don’t make it an either/or conversation.
As leaders, we are called to be good stewards of the business. We need to start the recovery process, call people to productivity, and move the business forward.
We also need to be empathetic. People are still hurting. They are still fearful. They are still dealing with uncertainty and chaos. We need to give people time and space to experience the emotions that they are feeling.
Both can be done when we understand empathy and healthy accountability.
