At this year’s LTEN Learning Executive’s Annual Forum, we had the privilege of designing and delivering workshop that challenged participants to reimagine coaching in the workplace. Our “Coach with L.O.V.E.” program paired interactive learning with a scavenger hunt (The “Champions’ Chase”) through the Chicago Sports Museum, creating an experience that brought coaching principles to life. The setting was intentional—just as the greatest athletes actively seek coaching to elevate their performance, professionals at every level can benefit from coaching that helps them continuously level up.

At the heart of our approach is a powerful reframing of coaching grounded in Thomas Aquinas’s definition of love—”to will the good of the other.” This isn’t about correction or criticism; it’s about genuinely wanting someone to succeed and helping them get there. We introduced our four foundations of coaching through the L.O.V.E. framework: Level Up (helping people see their next growth opportunity with clarity and focus), Observation (sharing an honest picture of current performance), Visualize (painting a vivid picture of what success looks like), and Empower (providing the tools and support needed to bridge the gap).

The energy in the room was contagious as this group of learning professionals engaged with the content while building relationships with each other. The competitive spirit was high as they embarked on the Champions’ Chase throughout the museum, finding examples of great coaching and demonstrating the practices of leveling up, observing, visualizing, and empowering.

We’re grateful to LTEN for the opportunity to bring this experience to their community.
